SUMMARY:Street Medicine Clinic at Ballard Food Bank
DESCRIPTION:The street medicine program is for people who are living homeless (or were recently homeless). They do not charge a fee and do not require insurance. \nServices include:\n• Wound care\n• Foot care\n• Sexually transmitted infection testing\n• HIV testing\n• Hepatitis C testing\n• Birth control\n• Medication for opioid use disorder\n• Naloxone training\n• Overdose prevention training\n• Vaccines\n• Care for acute conditions\n• Care for chronic conditions \nThey can also help you connect to:\n• A regular doctor’s office that can provide follow-up care\n• Harm reduction services\n• Behavioral health\n• Substance use counseling\n• State medical insurance\n• ORCA LIFT transportation\n• Referrals to shelter\, food\, benefits\, and more \nHow to make a referral to Street Medicine Seattle & King County\nIf you or an unsheltered friend\, family member\, community member\, client\, or patient needs one of our\nservices\, please call or send us an email with the following information:\n• The individual’s name\, a detailed description of their location\, and any contact information\n• Which of our services are they wanting? Are they interested in receiving medical care?\n• Nature of your relationship with the individual (friend\, case manager\, family member\, etc.) \nReminders:\nWe prioritize people who sleep outside who are unable to access more traditional medical care\n• We only work within Seattle and South King County\n• We do not provide emergency medical care\n• We try to respond to referrals within a week\n• We can’t guarantee we will be able to locate an individual or that they will engage with us\n• We follow privacy laws\, so we may not be able to let you know the outcome of the referral \nThe Street Medicine Clinic’s mission is to ensure people who are unsheltered in King County have access to the health care they deserve\, on their terms.
