SUMMARY:Walk for Rice fundraiser for ACRS
DESCRIPTION:Join Us & Register Today \n\n\nJoin the effort to bring culturally familiar food to thousands of families in King County. Register as an individual fundraiser or join a team. Registration is free and will give you access to a custom give page to share with your friends\, family and colleagues. Anyone can donate\, however each registered fundraiser can earn limited edition Walk for Rice keepsakes when you raise $100\, $250 or $500 or support another fundraising team. \nJust create a login and password. (Use the same login/password if you fundraised in 2022.) Click Registration Guide under Helpful Resources below for step-by-step instructions. \n\n  \nWhy We Walk \n\n\nFor generations\, Walk for Rice brings people and communities together to raise funds for the ACRS Food Bank and awareness about food insecurity in Asian and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander (ANHPI) communities.  The year-long campaign culminates in a multicultural closing celebration and 3-mile walk at Seward Park as teams\, community members\, friends and family gather. \nANHPI communities are a diverse and growing population\, and many disproportionately lack access to food\, emergency meals and other basic needs. The ACRS Food Bank ensures community members experiencing food scarcity have access to culturally familiar foods\, such as rice\, tofu\, dry noodles and fresh produce like bok choi.  Last year\, the ACRS Food Bank distributed over a million pounds of food and reached more than 5\,700 people\, many of them seniors and children. \nSince the first walk in 1990 with co-founders Sam Mitsui and Herb and Bertha Tsuchiya\, Walk for Rice has grown from 45 walkers to hundreds of participants each year and has raised more than $1.4 million to feed families and individuals experiencing hunger in our region. Join the community and Walk for Rice!
